Stade Pierre-Mauroy, Lille -Saturday 2 July 2016, 5am (AEST)
They spluttered
about in their opening to these championships but Belgium are now having to be
rated as a huge chance of going all the way.
They’ve met a Welsh
side that can’t believe they’re in France, let alone in the last eight of the
Euros. They don’t want the journey to end but unless the Star player Gareth
Bale pulls out something extraordinary, this would seem to be it.
On that day match,
the Welsh had to rely on an own goal to win over Northern Ireland in the round
of 16 while the Belgians won over Hungary 4-0, which provides a clear view of
who might be the better team.
Wales’
: Gareth Bale
Shouldering the
entire hopes of a nation, Bale now knows the pressure of Neymar, Messi and Ronaldo.
He’s handling it well, too. But an off day for him would mean the end of Wales
from here. He’s getting plenty of support from Aaron Ramsay and Joe Allen, who
are doing their part to ease the pressure on the big star.
Belgium’s
key man: Eden Hazard
My Prediction Belgium win 2-1
