Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas is being blamed for David de Gea's dramatic deadline day cock-up two years ago.
Real management believe the Manchester United goalkeeper should already be their player after a deal in 2015 fell through in the final seconds of the summer market.
A fax machine was blamed at the time for the collapse, but Spanish pundit Eduardo Inda has offered a different version of events.
He told El Chiringuito: "There has been a lot of talk about a fax that night, but Keylor Navas was the man responsible for everything that happened, it was Keylor and his agent.
"The agent did everything possible to delay the operation and took hours to return the signed papers.
"Navas did not rush until the last moment all his options to stay in Real Madrid, even if it was not cleanly done."
